About Dr. Rachael Mumbower

I am a mom of three, educator, researcher, and nurse who helps busy parents teach their kids to think and lay a foundation for future success. I share low cost, high impact ideas that help you raise thriving little thinkers.

Why Thriving Little Thinkers?

Shortly after completing my PhD in nursing, I became a parent. A few months later, my husband was injured in a workplace accident. Due to the subsequent surgery and recovery, he was not able to lift our baby for six months.

It was one of our hardest seasons as a family. I knew that the first few years of life were critical to childhood development and I wanted to set my daughter up for success. I wanted to use the little time we had together each day to have an impact on her life. So with a determination to see her succeed, and a love for all things research, I started to read everything I could get my hands on related to children, the brain, and parenting.

I wanted to determine which activities had the highest value and greatest impact so that I wouldn’t constantly feel that I needed to be doing “more.” I wanted to prioritize the “best” while doing less.

And so, Thriving Little Thinkers was born!

No parent can do it all. If you are a parent who doesn’t have time to read all the articles or books, who wants to do your best to help your child succeed but you’re operating on a little bit of sleep and a lot of coffee, welcome to the perfect site for you. I want to share what I’ve learned and give you low cost and high impact ideas to help you raise thriving little thinkers.

Cheering you on,

Rachael Mumbower, PhD, RN
